The mouth of the terra cotta or clay drain pipe is about a diameter. The holes to mount a typical flange line up w/ the lip of the clay pipe & it wouldn't hold the flange. The top section of the clay pipe had to go. Chip it out down to the lower lip using a cold chisel & a hammer. You laid ceramic tile in the interim, so be careful not to chip that. Also, cover the lower portion of the drain pipe w/ duct tape so none of the clay fragments went into the sanitary sewer.

Does this restaurant take reservations??
It's great for non vegetarians but it is terrible for vegetarians. Their "vegetarian options" have shrimp paste in them
MoreTotally enjoyed our Chinese New Year celebration here with lots of great southeast Asian Chinese dishes. Our favorite was lo hay, a special fun salad that is only served during New Years.
MoreBest M food in the area!
So far, everything I have tried on their menu are delicious! The sizzling tofu is a MUST!
MoreWow. Intense flavors and wonderful.
I ordered the laksa, which was perfectly flavored and delicious. It also tasted freshly made. The service wasn't that friendly, and it sounded like 2 of the staff were arguing in the middle of the restaurant. @goodforjo
MoreDelicious food and excellent friendly service. Their Singapore laksa is one of the best I've tasted.
MoreMy favorite spot for delicious seafood yi noodles.
Great family style Chinese food.
I had a nice experience here with good food, but I also had Malaysian friends with me to ease the service and fill our table with wonderful food. The roti canai was just okay, but the curry was good. We loved the marmite pork and the water grass and the tofu sizzle platter! It was peaceful on a Saturday morning, but it was filling up quickly by early afternoon.
MoreAn amazing restaurant with wide variety of food. The place can get crowded at night so the food may take a little long to make, but definitely worth the time. Fully recommended!
MoreIf you’re Malaysian. It’ll satisfy your cravings. But the food here did not reach Malaysian standards.
MoreQuick service and excellent food. Not a fancy place and sometimes crowded but the food is always great.
MoreWe arrived at the restaurant 20 mins before they were about to close and they glady took us. We ordered the roti canai, qui tao, shrimp sambal and chicken satay. Everything was delicious and quickly prepared. The roti was soft and flaky unlike others I have tried! The staff was very friendly and told us not too rush even though they were closing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Malaysian cuisine!
MoreOne of my favorite places to eat In Queens
They don't lie. Taste Good does taste good. My favorite menu items there areRoti CanalHainanese Chicken RiceChar Kway TeowI like them so much I can't help to order the same thing everytime I go there. It never has let me down.
MoreFood was great and prices are reasonable..01/10/2020 return visit, I called in advance and my food was ready .. I few minutes before arriving.. wonderful !! Food was hot and delicious!
MoreI love their food! My favorite is the Sambal beef and their curry soup with stuffed items(not sure what the name i always just tell the server). We also love their roti canai and sizzling egg tofu, yumm..
MoreExcellent home cooked Malaysian dishes at very affordable prices.......and if you need to spice things up even more, just ask for extra Sambal chili sauce on the side and they will generallge accommodate! Good speedy service, very impressed!
MoreTaste was above average, but overall I find this place a little overrated. Food portion was relatively small. And for the same price level, there are plenty of options in the neighborhood.
MoreHave not been disappointed by anything I have eaten here. Its all in the name, this place truly does taste good!
MoreGreat food, easy environment. Authentic taste. I suggest trying Chow Kew Te, great work fire. Don't order the curry pancake. Fried fish cake was good. Soy milk and grass jelly is also good too.
MoreThis is the best inexpensive Malaysian restaurant in all of NYC. My family has been a fan of this place since 1999, since they've changed owners multiple times. It has become my childhood.
MoreOMG! this place is so good. I've had most of the malaysians food in NYC. this place is the best hands down no contest. The curry is so good is ridiculous. This place has been around for many years. I love the pickled jalapenos they have. I had the curry combo. show them the photo if you can find it on the menu. the price is right the portions are good. I had to take out mines. couldn't finish it. Just go try it after you finish reading this. the place is small and little worn down. but yall know the best food is always in the small little smelly places. lol... go get some now. don't even ask me anything.. just go get some
MoreThe food..yum! Definitely be back there for more.
Has some nice unique suite of authentic dishes prepared quite well that may be hard to find elsewhere. Average dishes is ~<$10. Portions could be a bit bigger and this is slightly bigger than a hole-in-the-wall (but expect that decor), but overall I'd definitely come back.
MoreI lived in Singapore before and I am so happy I found this place. I always love their food. Makes me miss Singapore & Malaysia so much.
MoreAuthentic fresh food. You should run to this eatery!!
Food is so flavorful and authentic. Ordered Nasi Lemak and Beef Randang. Loved it!
MoreSmall busy but easy to miss Malaysian restaurant that serves laksa noodles, among other things. Pretty good food for the price. Nice to stop in for a bowl of noodles. The roti canai was thicker but smaller in circumference than other places that I've been to (I prefer the thinner kind). It was fresh and hot off the grill though so still very good. The curry sauce that came with it I felt was better than other places. The popiah was kinda meh. Would definitely stop in again to try other dishes. Cash only.
MorePretty authentic Malaysian food. One of my goto Hainanese Chicken Rice place in NYC.
MoreA true gem for delicious and inexpensive Malaysian food. I will always order their roti canai and hainanese chicken (leg) over rice. The roti is very fluffy and the laksa was not too spicy yet still flavorful. Their chicken is perfect: the skin is gello like and the meat is tender and juicy. You can either eat it with the sweet soysauce or dip it in the sweet and spicy hot sauce. Layer that over a pile of chicken stock rice and eat it all in one bite! The chicken over rice also comes with chick stock and it is light in texture but rich in chicken flavor. Enjoy that with the rice and chicken makes it a really satisfying combo. Most food over here is under 10 bucks a dish so it's really affordable and the service is speedy. It's a block away from the Elmhurst train station and I really recommend this place!
MoreMalaysian food and the scene at this location is excellent. Got there about one, it wasn't busy. Quick, helpful, and friendly service. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I loved.
MoreCheap, delicious, and fulling! One if the best places to get Malaysian food in NYC. Definitely try their Hainan Chicken!
MoreOne of my family’s favorite Malaysian restaurants, the food is delicious, and we order the purple rice dessert ALL THE TIME!!! The place can get crowded at night and food may take a little long to make, but definitely worth the time. Good for causal eating.
MoreIt had been 11 years since I'd last been and the food was just as good as ever. We came for lunch, most of the tables were full and every dish was full of flavor. Still a great place for tasty SE Asian cuisine.
MoreGood, relatively cheap food, and plenty of options for the whole family. You can have it family style with many plates to share or individual dishes for yourself. It is cash only so come prepared. The service is fast, the food is delicious, and the prices are decent. Parking is hard here so try to come by train. Hopefully they don't get anywhere since all the lots around there are getting built up into condos.
MoreVery good food
The place is quite cramped, but decent service. No AC so if it’s hot outside, it gets really hot inside. Food is pretty good although I prefer the lighter softer type of roti that they serve for the appetizer. The stir fry guo tiu and other noodles were fantastic. The hainan chicken was not so great. Not bad but not great. The salted cod fried rice is pretty good as well.
MoreThis place is straight fire! Get the seafood scrambled egg chow fun, the beef rendang....everything is great! Roti is piping hot...their chili sauce is unique and their fresh green chili in vinegar Is fire too. hot! Go and enjoy! Favorite spot for Malaysian good.
MoreAwesome authentic Malaysian food. I'm relatively new to Malaysian food but everything we ordered based on recommendations has been fantastic. The restaurant is not much to look at but their food is really amazing. Like many local small asian restaurants this place is cash only so be prepared when you visit. I don't believe they have an ATM inside but it's right by Elmhurst Ave subway stop so probably many other places for ATM.Prices are very competitive too among the many local restaurants you'll find in the area.
MoreI used to work for a Malaysian boss as a teen in Downtown Manhattan. She used to ordered Malaysian cuisines for us. Since then, Malaysian foods was a big deal for as to my fav Espana Tapas. Taste Good Malaysian restaurant make the mark. Authentic and budget friendly. Came here with my mom today for lunch, it was packed, but somehow they found seat for us. Service was quick, friendly services, but make sure you bring cash. No cards accepted. Give it a shot, really good!
MoreOh my where to begin! This is one of those "hidden gems" of Queens. Located near a very busy road going to Broadway and right beside an Asian supermarket, you hardly get to notice this restaurant. Let me just say this. All the food here tastes AMAZING. You will never go wrong with what to pick. They also have photos of the different food on their walls so if you do not know any Malaysian food, you are not lost. Service wise was pretty snappy. The server was nice and accommodating. Good ventilation, even though it's a hot summer day. Get the beef rendang and the nasi lemak. Their roti tastes great too. Get everything! Haha. Price is also cheap. All stars here, believe me.
MoreImpressive food taste and customer service. So professional servers. Besides their service, the foods are also delicious. Popular dishes include Roti Canai, Beef Rendang, Hainanese Chicken, Singapore Kari Laksa, Char Kway Teow and Hainan Chicken.
Morelovely malaysian dishes at low price, a bargain
Authentic Malaysian restaurant with a variety of menu choices.
ABYSMAL service. I gave a what would be considered a generous tip in cash. On my way out, the waiter came and pointed to the tip and said "NOT ENOUGH". My family and I were appalled. I think he did this because my wife was Caucasian and he thought he could get a bigger tip from English-speaking folks. (It's never happened when I go out with only Chinese people.) I left the tip as it was, but I should have given NOTHING. This level of service is completely unacceptable. I will never go to this place again, and neither should anyone who wants even average service. The food is unremarkable and you can do much better in Flushing.
MoreThis place used to be great! Food is good/ok. But this time, my server wasn't very nice. In fact, he kind of forgot about us for a while: We didn't get the rice we ordered until the end of the meal. I'm Chinese, so when I order rice, I'd like to eat it with my meal, not separately at the end of the meal as if it's some kind of dessert. And I most definitely do not want to pay for that rice. When we stood up to the front counter to take care of our bill, he charged us for the rice. I'm kind of dismayed at it, but I kind of give up and don't want to argue for the $1.75. But then he had the audacity to request more tip. I used to be a loyal customer, but I'm not so sure about this place anymore. Sorry, Taste Good. If you forget about my table, that's fine. But you don't also get to demand a very generous tip at the end of the night.
MoreOverpriced for the portion of their food
Excellent quality food & taste as good the name restaurant 👍👍👍👍👍
